2 Weeks Old

Lil Miss Ivy Dawn is 2 weeks old today. I can barely believe my baby girl is 2 weeks already. How fast the time goes by. Before I know it I will be planning her 1st birthday party. She is doing fantastic. She has been a great sleeper so far and barely cries. We are truely blessed! The boys are still doing great with her. They both love to feed her the occasional bottle and are constantly mauling her with kisses!

Tomorrow we go to the Cardiologist for baby girl. Please say some prayers that all goes well. Will update afterwards :)

Ivy Update

Got the phone call from the dr today. The EKG and the Echocardiogram showed that our sweet little girl has PDA and PFO. PDA stands for Patent Ductus Arteriosus. PFO stands for Patent Foramen Ovale. I researched a little but am not going to keep researching as I don't want to freak me out too much. We have an appointment to take Ivy to go see the Pediatric Cardiologist next week Wednesday, July 1st at 2pm. And then we go back to see her pediatrician on July 2nd for a follow-up with him. The dr said not to worry too much as it's not 'urgent'. But still really hard not to. I am praying and hoping that they say that everything just closed up and everything by next week, but we'll see. It's all in God's hands. And I will just keep praying. I am glad that it's not too serious tho. Please keep praying!!! Thanks!!!!!

Bye Bye Kindergarten :-)

Eric getting off the bus on his very last day of Kindergarten. I can't believe he's a 1st grader now!

Today is Eric's last day of school. And it's only a couple hours today! He has a 1/2 day. I can't believe he's going to be done with kindergarten already and become a 1st grader. This past year has gone by way too fast. It is bittersweet.

Eric had Kindergarten Graduation on Friday, June 19th. They did a lil ceremony and gave the kids each a certificate! It was super cute and we are so proud of our lil man!!! He did wonderful. I can't believe he is going to be a 1st grader. He's looking forward to having the summer off! If you notice his cute lil outfit he picked it out! His teacher Ms. Fininizo said they could dress up if they wanted to. Well, Eric wanted to. I had layed out a couple different outfits and that's the one he picked! He's just like his mama lol.

angels in her dreams :) :)

Christian and Ivy. Such a precious smile!

Big Brother Alex all smiles feeding his sister!
Big Brother Eric loves feeding his sister too!

Ivy is one week old already. I can't believe it. She is such a precious lil thing already!! So, as you already know she has had a busy day. First the echocardiogram and then the EKG today. Both Eric and Alex got the pleasure of feeding their little sister today! They did so well! They were such happy boys to be able to feed her! The nursing is going good. And so I've been pumping and already have a nice lil stash in the freezer! We also had visitors today. Jen and Christian came over to meet Ivy. Miss Ivy also had a photo shoot today! Kate took pictures of my angel again and they are so cute!!!! Here's a link to the pictures!

EKG/Echocardiogram

Ivy had her EKG and her Echocardiogram done today at Mercy Hospital. She was such a trooper! I am so proud of her!!!!! They did the Echocardiogram first and then the EKG. During the 'Echo' i just rubbed her hands and she did great layed still very well. And then the EKG she was a lil restless and she needed to be super still and the technician wanted a pacifier but since we don't use them I again just made skin to skin contact with my baby girl. She did so wonderful and the tech was suprised how well she did! The tech that did the 'echo' said we would have the results to our dr by the end of the week. But our dr. yesterday said he should have them back today, so hopefully they are back soon and we find out what's going on. I am still praying that she is perfectly healthy and nothing is wrong. I do have my 'idea' of what I think I saw. But Tim keeps telling me not to jump the gun and what not because I don't know since it's not my job and stuff. Which is very true but doesn't stop you having your own ideas, ya know. So that's that, she did great and we are still praying and ask that you all do as well. TIA

Today was Eric's last T-ball game!! He had a
great season and is excited for the next one!
Thanks again Uncle George and Aunt Jess for
coming today!!!!!

Ivy's 1st Doctor Apt

Today was Ivy's 1st Doctor apt. She weighed in at 7# 6oz. Only 1 oz shy of her birth weight!!! She was 7# 2 3/4 oz. when we left the hospital on Thursday so that is great!! Her head was 14 1/4 inches! Grown 1 1/4 inches in just 6 days! The doctor said he "thinks he heard a slight heart murmur" I of course only heard heart murmur and started freaking. I just hope my baby girl is ok. We go tomorrow morning at 7:15AM to the hospital so that she can get an EKG and an Echocardiogram (sp) I'm so nervous. I really hope that she is ok and that it is completely nothing and the doctor just didn't get a good 'reading'. He said that she has great color so that's good and since she is eating and everything so well, that he wasn't too concerned. But this mama is pretty nervous and just hoping everything goes smoothly.

So, we are putting it in God's hands and praying that all is ok with our beautiful baby girl. I hope that we get results back tomorrow too. Will keep everyone updated. And please say some prayers for Ivy :)

Today Ivy's umbilical cord fell off. I couldn't believe it. I unbuttoned her sleeper and it wasn't there, it fell down onto her diaper. I still can't believe it fell off. She is getting too big too fast. I have a feeling this is going to all go by too fast!!!! I'll try to get some more pictures posted asap.

Ivy's Birth Story

Well, I'm going to attempt to write out Ivy's birth story. I am not sure if it will all make sense or not but I'm hoping. I hope I get all the main points lol.

Monday, I tried once again a dose of Castor Oil. I really did not want to be induced with this baby so I thought I'd give it one last try. I didn't really have many contractions, had more Friday night. So, I went to bed with no contractions. I woke up at 2:15AM to go potty. I then made the trip back to bed and layed down got back up cuz I thought I had to pee again. Well, come to find out my water broke!!! So, I woke Tim up and he sits right up in bed and said "ok, I'm calling the doctor" I thought he was jumping the gun a bit but the doctor called back within 2 minutes. Dr said to go to the hossy cuz I could be dilating without knowing it. Because I was shockd that he wanted me to go in without having contractions.

So, we get all the stuff ready to go and get the boys up and took the boys to my friend Nicole's house. Off the hospital we went!

We get to the hospital at 4:05 AM. Got up to labor and delivery and got checked at 4:25AM. I was 2-3 cm. So, they let me be for awhile to let the contractions start picking up. So, I tried to get some rest before things started but that was impossible. I could not get comfy. So, I decided to get in the tub. O that was sooooo nice!!!!!! But after a 1/2 hour they had me get out so they could check on the baby. I got checked a lil before 9am and I was only 3-4 cm 80% effaced. So, my dr decided to start pitocin to get the ball rolling.

So, now I was stuck in bed for the duration of the of the labor and delivery because they have to constantly monitor the baby. I believe around 1pm or so the contractions started to get a lil rougher. So, after a lil bit longer I asked for the epidural. Well, the Anesthesialogist was in a C-section so I had to wait. So, the nurse (Nancy) talked me into Nubain. Well, that did not take the pain away, it just calmed my nerves a lil bit. Finally the anesthesialogist came. This is when it all went down hill for me (meaning not at all like I thought nor liked).

I was so nervous about getting the epi without Tim with me. He was in the room with me the other two times. So, I was starting to get worked up but anyway, I had to pee so bad and the nurse would not let me go. She said that I would be able to go after I got the epi. The anesthesialogist was not the nicest either. "Either get in position now or you are waiving your rights to an epidural" UGH You want to know how hard it is to get into the correct position during contractions and an extremely full bladder and bawling your eyes out. Yea not the easiest thing. But finally I was able to and got the epi in. And then of course the nurse would not let me go to the bathroom and tried making me go on a bed pan. Yea not the easiest thing in the world. However it was not relieving any of the pain. For some reason it just did not take and I was still in a bunch of pain. My nurse was absolutely horrid. She checked me because I was in so much pain and she said I was still only 4 cm. But then not even 2 min. later the midwife came in and she saw how I was so she checked me again and said I was 6 cm and 100% effaced. Well, the contractions just were horrible, and I felt like I needed to start pushing. Meanwhile, my nurse is horrrible still. She's not listening to me. I kept telling Tim and Kate (my friend Kate was in the room with me because she was going to be taking pictures for us. Well, once again back to the horrible nurse she wouldn't let Kate take any pictures and I had already gotten the clear by the doctor and stuff earlier.) that things weren't right. I just needed like 2 minutes to re-group and gain composure but I didn't get a chance.

I was told to get into a couple different positions and nothing was working. My heartrate was as high as the baby's heartrate so they put on of those heartrate monitors on her head. Found out a couple days later that her heartrate kept decelating. And apparently they were starting to get ready to do a C-Section because I was having a hard time getting her to come down and stuff. I don't know what they would have given me as the epi still wasn't working :(

Anyway, they pulled out the mirror to let me see her head because I was getting beat. Everything was happening so fast and I was still bawling and I kept telling Tim and Kate that things weren't right. I was really upset. It all stemmed back to my darn nurse. At one point I was praying and she told me to stop and I just still can't get over that one! And it was a Catholic hospital! So, back to the mirror, I got to see her head and it was the coolest/weirdest thing ever! Finally she was born at 4pm on the dot! She wasn't breathing at first. She had the cord wrapped tightly around her lil neck. I was really scared because Tim wasn't saying anything and was just staring at her with his mouth gaping open. But finally she took a breath. And he told me she was ok.

They took her to the warmer thing and started wiping her off. Her apgar scores were 7 and 9. Tim said he checked 4 times that she was a girl! Kate said she got a picture she's a girl! lol. When I finally got to hold her she had a diaper on and I took the diaper off I had to see for myself that she was a girl! Ivy Dawn Bonnes was 7# 7oz and 21 inches long. Her head and chest were 13inches.

All in all, I am just so grateful for such a healthy lil girl!!! I am very thankful for not being induced! I am also very thankful that I didn't need the C-Section. (2nd time I was threatened with one lol) The deliveries go Eric being the roughest since it was so long and I pushed for so long, then to Ivy's being the next hardest mainly cuz of my dang Nurse, then to Alex being the best. I highly recommend the mirror if you get an option to use it! It was such a moving experience to see. But as soon as the baby is born have them move the mirror cuz the after part isn't the best to see!

Two hours after Ivy was born Tim was looking that the iv machine and noticed that the epi pump was still on. Lovely, the nurse said 'o, I thought I turned that off". O she was such a winner, I think it's time for her to move on past the delivery rooms. I still can't get over how she was.

I am doing well tho, no stitches or tearing or anything. Back pain and Tail bone pain but doing pretty well. Absolutely in love with my lil gir!!!!!!!!

38/39 wk 2 day OB apt.

Just got back from the OB. Things still good. Blood Pressure great, weight gain 1/2 pound!!! Baby girl's heartbeat was a little lower than it's been. It's been in the 140s all along today it was 130 but she had a hard time finding it but I also hear that it's normal for the heartbeat to go a little lower before baby is born. Best part is, there has been some progress! Some progress is better than none!! I am 1 cm dilated and cervix is beginning to soften and thin out! YAY better than last week. Still know it doesn't mean I could have the baby soon or not but like progress! lol. Dr kept saying have the baby this weekend or beginning of next wk! So hopefully that happens! I can't wait to meet her! But all is well, if I haven't had her by next Friday, that's my next apt.

Feeding the Giraffe!

I took Alex to the zoo again today! He was pretty good! When we first got there we met up with friends and fed the Giraffe. First he dropped the cracker thing then he would not feed it to the giraffe, so I had to but it was pretty cool. And weird lol. Didn't take too many pictures as being very pregnant is a little tiring. I was hoping to be able to do something to help baby girl make her entrance, but so far just wore me out and bad back pain. But I go to the OB tomorrow, so hopefully we will have some new news! I'm so excited to meet my lil girl, but so nervous and sad too. I am gonna miss feeling her moving!

Take A Guess!!!

Take a guess when you think lil baby Bonnes will make her debut!!! The name of the game is babybonnes and the link is http://www.expectnet.com/game.php

1-3 wks left!

I'm either 38 or 39 wks today. I personally think I'm 39 wks, but hey whatever. Baby girl will make her debut when she is ready. I'm a little nervous. I'm not the biggest fan of being pregnant perse, but I absolutely LOVE feeling the baby move. Knowing this is my last pregnancy, my last couple of days of being pregnant I know I am going to miss it some. I'm going to miss the pushing and head butting of my bladder lol. But on the second hand, I feel like I've been pregnant forever this time. I think it's cuz I found out so early. But I'm ready to be holding my lil girl in my arms!

Last night we helped the boys make their Big Brother shirts! They had a lot of fun making them! I have the sitters all lined up, now I just really need to get a bag packed to take to the hospital. Eventually. LOL.

Painting Fun

I decided to let the boys have some fun Sunday evening. Tim got some paint and I let the belly out and the boys got the paint brushes and they went to town!! They had so much fun painting Mommy's belly! Such great memories!!!!
Well, I am finally jumping on the band wagon. We'll see how this works. LOL. But I think it will be alot easier to try to share pictures with family and friends. It will make it alot easier than having to send out different emails and uploading to different sites! Just hope I can figure it all out!

Just a little information about us....I'm Deanna, married to my love Timothy. We've been married for 6 years now. We got married on March 1, 2003. We have 2 very handsome lil boys. Eric is 5 years old. He will be 6 July 29. Alex is 2 1/2 years old. He will be 3 on October 3rd. We are expecting another lil bundle of joy. A little girl due pretty soon. I've been told many different due dates, earliest being June 4th, latest being June 17th, so we are going with the middle on of June 10th. I really hope she comes soon! I can't wait to meet her and her big brothers are so excited for her to be born!!!!

I am a SAHM to my wonderful kids. And Tim is a Recruiter for the US ARMY. He's been recruiting for almost 5 years now. I still can't believe it! It has it's moments lol.

We have an English Mastiff. Her name is Yeti. She just turned 1 last month. She was born May 16, 2008. She's a pain in the rear, but we still love her! Seems like since she turned 1 she started acting like a puppy again....She's been chewing and digging and driving Tim and I bonkers. Think I might have to get some of that No Dig Spray. HEHE.

Well, I guess that's it for now. I'm sure I will be adding more soon!!!
